Gal*Gunvolt Burst – Longplay – Hard Mode

I decided to give longplays a shot, I thought it would be nice to keep some sort of library of gameplay, especially for games not played that much. It’s also a good opportunity to face my shortcomings as a gamer and see where I fail so I can improve further. This first longplay will be about Gal*Gunvolt Burst, a little Megaman kind of game that was really fun to play. It is by no means as hard as the proper classic Megaman games and has a lot more options to make the game easier, but hard mode made a bit spicier.

The clumsy angel takes off
I decided to go with Ekoro for this playthrough. She is the weakest of the bunch in the beginning, but as she gets more defense and her ability to fly she becomes the best character in the game for me. Hard mode is rough on her at first because her life bar and firepower are so low, but you can quickly compensate for that with skills and her invincible/power up ability that comes back very often.
Ekoro, from the Gal*Gun series, was a DLC character for this game on the first version. It explains why she is rather special compared to the 2 main characters.
Those invisible platforms can quickly get annoying, especially with those pesky enemies garding them. They show you where you can jump, but can knock you down as well.
The hardest parts of the game, in my opinion, are the open area in the capitol stage with its invisible platforms garded by a multitude of enemies that can make you fall to your doom, the radio tower stage with its sections above a hole where you have to hang on ropes in order to progress and any hit taken will make you fall instantly and die, and finally the Gateway stage with its once again above a hole section where you need to fend off enemies while hanging on to some kind of flying pod. What makes it worse is that those enemies shoot a 8 direction pack of projectiles when killed, which is almost unavoidable while hanging on that pop that keeps going forward, so your best bet here is to burst kill them at point blank to prevent their final attack.
Other than that, the game can be easily beat if you dodge most of the hits and make good use of fruits to keep yourself alive. Bosses can definitely be a problem, especially if you don’t take the time to learn their patterns like me… But since the game is pretty lenient even on hard difficulty, beating them while stuffing your face with fruits is not so bad especially if you have the defense up perk that lets you take quite a beating even with the weak Ekoro.
If you ever wondered what the burst mechanic was for, I would say it was made for this area xD
The easiest stage to die in my opinion. Many obstacles and quick shots coming from all directions and any hit can potentially make you fall. It gets easier once you know what to expect and rush through, but it can be frustrating at first.
This game was a very fun experience overall and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys those Megaman like games! I willdefinitely make a review of it and give a couple more tips for some trophies.
Hope you will enjoy discovering this game if you haven’t already!
